Another typeface drawn to a legibility brief, this time at a fixed width: codes, reference numbers and aligned columns of digits keep the same unambiguous intent as the Atkinson labels around them.

BPOZZ Design Note

The Braille Institute brief behind it is about telling characters apart: distinctive forms replace ones that are easily confused, which matters most where one misread character changes the meaning, such as reference codes and form fields. It does not relax the size, contrast and spacing minimums that text still has to meet.

About Atkinson Hyperlegible

About
Developed for the Braille Institute to improve legibility for readers with low vision. A grotesque at its core, it uses deliberately distinct letterforms so similar characters are harder to confuse.
