About these palettes

BPOZZ has about 600 color palettes. Each one is four colors that are meant to be used together, and every color carries its own name as well as its HEX value. The newest palettes are shown first.

How to use them

Using a four-color palette in a design

Four colors are rarely used in equal amounts. A common starting point is to give one color most of the surface, use the darkest one for text, and keep the remaining two for accents such as buttons, links and highlights. Before you commit, check that text stays readable on every background it will sit on, and plan how the palette behaves in a dark theme.

If a palette is almost right but one color doesn't fit, you don't have to start over. Find that color in the color library, look through the other shades in its family, and swap in a neighbor — then check contrast again, because even a small change in lightness can move text above or below a readable ratio.
